Blog Use and Comment Policy
WCOG's blog provides an opportunity for sharing and discussing information about the Whatcom Council of Governments (WCOG) planning process. The comments and opinions expressed by users of this blog are theirs alone and do not reflect the opinions of WCOG or its employees. All public comments are screened in accordance with the WCOG blog use policy.
- Comments will not be edited by WCOG or its staff. Only comments that comply with this blog use policy will remain posted on the website.
- The use of vulgar, offensive, threatening, or harassing language is prohibited.
- Blog public comments should be limited to comments related to the posted topic. Opinions or beliefs not directly related to the posted topic will be deleted.
- The blog is not open to comments promoting or opposing any person campaigning for election to a political office or promoting or opposing any ballot proposition.
- The blog is not open to the promotion or advertisement of a business or commercial transaction.
- Communications made through the blog's e-mail and messaging system will in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to WCOG or any official or employee of WCOG for any purpose. For example, a post or comment requesting WCOG to provide public records will not be considered a public records request under RCW 42.56.
- This blog use policy is subject to amendment or modification at any time to ensure its continued use is consistent with its intended purpose as a limited forum.
Complaint Policy
The WCOG Complaint Policy has been established to ensure that the public has an easy and accessible way to provide feedback. WCOG is open to hearing any feedback including complaints, comments,suggestions, or concerns. View WCOG's Complaint Policy.
Privacy Statement
WCOG does not collect, store, or disseminate any credit card information about registrants. Payment information is collected on the secure Virtual Merchant site and is not shared with WCOG.
WCOG does not disseminate e-mail addresses collected on the website through blogs or other social media outlets.
Refund Policy
Registration payments may be refunded in full up to two weeks prior to the scheduled event. Refunds are for credit card payments only.
Registration Policy
Registration for WCOG classes and events can be done by credit card or check prior to the event. Confirmation of registration will be sent by e-mail within five days of registration.
Title VI
It is the Whatcom Council of Governments (WCOG) policy to assure that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin and sex, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise discriminated against under any of its federally funded programs and activities. Any person who believes his/her Title VI protection has been violated, may file a complaint with the WCOG.
